Lineage 2: The Chaotic Chronicle Description
Lineage 2 was originally a pay-to-play subscription-based fantasy MMORPG. It was later updated to a free-to-play model as of the Goddess of Destruction and Truly Free update in 2011-2012.
The story of Lineage 2 takes place in the course of Sagas. The first Saga was The Chaotic Chronicle, which was later followed by the Chaotic Throne, Goddess of Destruction, and Epic Tale of Aden. These Sagas are further broken down into Chronicles. Chronicles add content such as new classes, new quests, new locations, new items and features, and new level caps. Players create their characters from a list of multitude of races and classes. There are currently 6 playable races in Lineage 2: Human, Elf, Dark Elf, Orc, Dwarfs, and Kamael. Each Race in Lineage 2 has its own list of classes, with a total of 38 classes between 2 different occupations (Fighter or Mystic). For instance, a Human Fighter can become a Warrior, a Knight, or a Rogue. On the other hand, an Orc Fighter can become an Orc Raider or a Monk.
As the character progresses, they can gain an a Second Job Class, a Third Job Class, and an Awakening Class. For example, An Orc Monk can progress to a Tyrant Second Job, the Grand Kavatari Third Job, and the Tyrr Grand Khavatari Awakening Class. Some classes will have 2 branching paths for their later Job Class.
Players in Lineage 2 can gain experience in quests. There are Main Quests and Side Quests in Lineage 2, with many daily repeatable quests, Noble Quests, Academy Quests, and Clan Quests to choose from. The PVP system in Lineage 2 works on a Reputation system, where a player that kills another player in the field will be marked as being in a Chaotic State. While in a Chaotic State, the player suffers penalties in gaining XP and, eventually, loot drops.
