MMO Populations

Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. MMO Populations uses only aggregated, publicly available data to estimate player activity across games. We do not collect personal data about visitors beyond what is needed to operate and secure the site.

Information we collect

  • Basic server logs (IP, user-agent, request path, timestamp) that help us prevent abuse and keep the site running.
  • Anonymous usage analytics that show how many people interact with the site and which pages are most helpful.
  • Contact form submissions when you reach out to us—we use these solely to respond to your request.
  • We do not run an account system, profile users across sites, or sell any personal information.

Analytics

MMO Populations uses Google Analytics 4 and Plausible Analytics to understand high-level usage trends. Both tools focus on aggregated reporting. GA4 helps us spot technical issues across browsers and devices. Plausible provides cookieless, privacy-friendly metrics hosted in the EU. Neither platform gives us access to personally identifiable information, and we do not combine analytics data with other data sources to identify you individually. You can opt out of GA4 using Google’s browser add-ons and block Plausible by disabling analytics scripts in your browser or using a content blocker.

Data sources for player counts

Our population estimates are generated from publicly available signals such as platform charts, API responses, and leaderboards. We ingest, normalize, and store these data points in aggregate. We do not ingest personal player information or private account details from game publishers.

Cookies & storage

We aim to run the site with as few cookies as possible. Functional cookies may be set for load balancing or remembering lightweight preferences. GA4 can set cookies where required for its reporting. Plausible does not use cookies. You are free to clear or block cookies without losing access to the core experience.

Retention & security

Server logs are typically retained for up to 30 days unless we need them longer to investigate abuse or ensure platform stability. Analytics data is kept in line with each provider’s default retention policy. We apply reasonable security measures such as TLS, access controls, and monitoring to protect the information we store.

Your choices

You can opt out of analytics by using browser-based blockers or disabling scripts from analytics providers. If you submit a message through our contact form and would like it deleted, include that in your request and we will confirm once it’s removed.
