MapleStory 2 Description
MapleStory 2 is Nexon's follow-up to the fantasy MMORPG MapleStory. The game is an isometric 3D action adventure, letting players create characters and go on various quests, interact with the NPCs of the Maple World, and battle monsters and bosses in real time.
While MapleStory is a 2D side-scrolling game, MapleStory 2 is fully 3D, with voxel-based graphics with a blocky design, similar to Roblox or Minecraft. There is a whimsical and childlike essence to the character and environmental designs in MapleStory 2.
Many of the features from the original MapleStory are translated in MapleStory 2. Players create characters based on the following classes: Archer, Assassin, Berserker, Heavy Gunner, Knight, Priest, Runeblade, Soul Binder, Striker, Thief, and Wizard. Players can also modify the appearance of their characters, including gender, hairstyle, skin tone, top and bottom clothes, and shoes (although some clothes are specific to certain classes). There are a variety of default facial expressions to choose from, as well as additional details such as Flushed Cheeks and Battle Scars.
The Maple World in MapleStory 2 is richly designed, with a wide variety of themes. Anything from high fantasy to a techno-scifi theme can be found, with each location having their own goals and quests. Aside from the main story, players can choose minigames and participate in raids. The housing system in MapleStory 2 is also more elaborate, allowing players to decorate it with furniture, and build entire mansions, with farming and maintenance staff.
