Magic: Legends Description
Magic Legends is an online multiplayer roleplaying game with a similar real-time action feature as with Diablo III and Guild Wars. Cryptic Studios referred to the game as an Action RPG. The setting is based on the multiverse of Magic: The Gathering, the popular collectible card game produced by Wizards of the Coast under Hasbro.
Players in Magic Legends take on the role of Planeswalkers. Planeswalkers are powerful, nearly immortal beings granted the Spark, which grants various powers such as the ability to naturally manipulate the magical energies or Mana in the universe, as well as travel the different planes at will. Magic Legends has 5 Planeswalker classes: Mind Mage, Necromancer, Beast Caller, Geomancer, and Sanctifier. There are also 2 additional classes: The Dimir Assassin and Pyromancer.
Each of the Planeswalker classes have different Abilities, Perks, Traits, and Starting Spell Cards. Spell Cards in Magic Legends is loosely based on the card game. These Spell Cards represent the main magical capacity of Planeswalkers, comprised of Sorceries, Summons, and Enchantments which Planeswalkers randomly cycle in the course of play.
Players in Magic Legends can also equip different weapons, accessories, and artifacts. These items enhance the effects of their Spell Cards or add bonuses to their Abilities, Perks, and Traits. These can be bought, crafted, or received as rewards. There are also Spell Scrolls that can be used to enhance Spell Cards to the next more powerful version. Players can group together in Magic Legends to take on more challenging team quest instances.
