Pathfinder: Kingmaker Description

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a computer roleplaying game, similar to the classic Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape, and Neverwinter Nights that were produced in the late 1990s to early 2000s. The game features an isometric top-down perspective and can be played in real time or as a turn-based system. The storyline in Pathfinder: Kingmaker is derived from the Adventure Path campaign released for the tabletop game in 2010. Set in the River Kingdoms region in the Stolen Lands area, players take the role of characters on their journey from being a lord of the local area to establishing their own kingdoms.

Characters can be created with the available Classes and Archetypes. Classes include the Alchemist, Barbarian, Cleric, Bard, Druid, Fighter, Inquisitor, Kineticist, Magus, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Slayer, Sorcerer, and Wizard. Each class has at least 3 Archetypes. For instance, A Fighter can choose from the Aldori Defender, Tower Shield Specialist, and Two-Handed Fighter Archetypes. In addition, there are Prestige Classes that can be optionally chosen later on. Characters in Pathfinder: Kingmaker are measured by their Ability Scores, Skills, Feats, and Special abilities. The game uses the traditional D&D abilities: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. Every 4 levels, characters receive 1 point to increase an ability score. Every class has their own set of skills, feats, and special abilities. Spellcasting classes like the Bard, Cleric, Wizard, and such also have access to spells of increasing power.

Aside from the main characters, players can recruit NPCs into their party. In addition to joining them on adventures, these NPCs can act as advisors and assistants in building and managing one's burgeoning kingdom.

Speaking of the kingdom, players will make critical choices that affect the growth and reputation of their kingdom. These include diplomacy, enemies fought, towns and cities built, economies and social standing. The more powerful a kingdom becomes, the more factions with their own interests that will seek favor or challenge it.
